Chua living in a time warp, says PAS Youth

Jan 25: Saying MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek (right) was stuck in a time warp over his recent arguments on why the public should not support DAP, PAS Youth said the former Health minister should accept that Malaysians have grown to reject parochial politics.
The wing's information chief Riduan Mohd Nor was commenting on Chua's contention that the non-Muslims' support to the MCA's arch enemy DAP was a prelude to PAS coming to power, an argument which is in line with MCA's attempt to portray PAS as a party that would deny non-Muslim rights.
Riduan said Chua's statement was a desperate effort to sow the seeds of prejudice and hatred against the Islamic party among the Chinese community.
"Dr Chua's statement is actually an outdated view that has been rejected by a society which has become more alert and informed about the country's political development," he added.
According to Riduan (left), Chua was resorting to his archaic tactic by trying to "revive his long-forgotten politics", he said in a statement.
Earlier, Chua, interviewed by online portal The Malaysian Insider, claimed that Chinese voters were returning to Barisan Nasional's folds because they had realised that supporting for DAP would allow PAS to control the Federal government.
“It is PAS that is going to be the dominant party. It is PAS that is going to call the shots, it is PAS that will rule the day if they (the opposition) come to power," argued Chua, who has often worded his many criticisms of PAS in a way that had angered Muslims from both sides of the divide by his remarks touching on the Islamic religion.
Chua's argument that PAS would emerge dominant in a Pakatan Rakyat-ruled Federal government drew a response from Parit Buntar member of parliament Mujahid Yusof Rawa (right), saying the coalition practised equality among its component parties unlike Barisan Nasional.
"PR is very different from BN, because in BN, there is a very dominant party called UMNO," said Mujahid.
"That is why they [BN parties] only follow UMNO’s orders. Should they have any dignity left, they would have left BN long ago."
