Feb 21: DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng said the presence of the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor last weekend at a fundraising event for UMNO's right-wing offshoot Perkasa had confirmed that Perkasa was just a BN agent disguised as a non-governmental organisation.

"It should now be crystal clear to the Malaysian people that the Prime Minister, Najib Razak, as well as his Barisan Nasional government, are open backers of the ultra-nationalist and racist movement, which masquerades as a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in order to disguise its Government backing," he said in a statement.
Last Saturday, Rosmah graced the Perkasa event, where its leader Ibrahim Ali poured praise on her saying his group held her in "great esteem". Ibrahim also led the crowd in chanting in English "We all love you" for Rosmah.
In return, Rosmah said she was grateful for Ibrahim's support, and pointed out that allegations of her penchant for shopping and luxury were not true.
According to Lim, Rosmah's attendance has made nonsense of Najib's claims to moderation, adding that the full support to BN from a group which in the past threatened to create racial strife should worry Malaysians.
"As a result of their active as well as passive support of Perkasa, Najib, Rosmah and the Barisan Nasional Government must be held fully responsible for all Perkasa’s extremist and seditious actions and statements," he stressed.
